LIGHTS ON AFTERSCHOOL!

Mark your calendars for the 13th annual Lights On Afterschool ~ Oct. 18, 2012. 




2011 North Carolina Events:


Huntersville Parks & Recreation After School Program, Huntersville, North Carolina
We plan on bringing our After School Program to the center of Huntersville for all to see. For two hours we will have Public Speakers, Enrolled Students and Past Students, and Parents speak on our behalf. We will show them all that we do thru games, activities, music, crafts, refreshments and good old fashion fun. A giant board for all to sign in support of our After School will be displayed. We also will have a Story Board of all we do, and letters on what we mean to the Children, Parents, Guardians, and the Community of Huntersville.

4-H Bulldog Alert SOS Program, Jefferson, North Carolina

Celebrated Lights on Afterschool on Friday, October 14th, 2011 by focusing on physical activity and healthy living. We took a field trip to Appalachian State University where we participated in several physical activity games. We also toured the Football Stadium and met with several sports players attending the University. Participants received signed autographed pictures from the players. Lunch was served and players spoke with participants on the importance of school, physical activity and healthy living. We had a total of 76th kindergarten  8th grade students participate in the field trip.
 
 
Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnston County, Selma, North Carolina
In celebration of Lights on After School we plan to have Club members escort guest on tour of our facility. In honor of the youth we serve and other youth served by afterschool program a power point presentation and lighting ceremony will be held. Club Youth, parent, the Mayor Pro-tem and Mayor speak on behalf of the difference the Club has made in the Community. Parents, guests, club members and staff will then be invited to interact with Club Youth in the Games room playing board games. Light refreshments will be served.
